Apple Strawberry Crumble
When a friend thinks about you, when she goes shopping, and buys this cute pink and blue ramekins set for you....you make Apple Strawberry Crumble to celebrate !!
I have made the crumble using a combination of quick Oats and Oats meal.
You can stew the fruits a day in advance and keep them refrigerated . And then bake them just before serving.
This healthy dessert has just one tablespoon of butter and no white sugar /white flour.
Although a crumble is generally served with ice cream , I enjoy mine as is with a cup of coffee.
Strawberry 4 large
Cinnamon pd 1/4tsp
Ginger pd 1/4 tsp
Jaggery powder 1 tbsp
Water 2 tbsp
Oats 2 tbsp
Oatsmeal 2 tbsp
Almonds 1 tbsp finely chopped
Jaggery Powder 20 gms
Butter 1 tbsp
Peel and chop apples and strawberries into small pieces.
In a heavy bottom pan mix apples, strawberries, cinnamon pd, ginger pd, jaggery pd and water.
Cover and stew till apples are slightly soft.
Meanwhile take all the ingredients except butter mentioned under crumble in a bowl.
Chop butter into small pieces.
Mix in butter using your finger tips till the mixture resembles bread crumbs.
Divide the Apple Strawberry mixture into two ramekins.
Sprinkle the crumble.
Pat it lightly.
In a preheated oven bake it for 30 minutes at 170 degrees Celsius.
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
