I often make Kasar / Panjeeri to offer it to dieties. It comes together very quickly. Doesn't require much sugar or ghee .
This Ganesh Chaturthi , make it as an offering for Bappa.
Ingredients
Atta 2 cups
Ghee 1/4 cup+ 1 tbsp
Fox Nuts 1/2 cup
Almonds 1/4 cup
Sugar 1/4 cup +1 tbsp
Pepper powder 1/4 tsp
Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp
Ghee 1 tbsp for frying nuts.
Method
In a heavy bottom wide mouth pan add half a tbsp ghee and fry Fox Nuts / Makhanas till crispy.
Remove in a plate.
In the same pan add another half a tbsp of ghee and fry the almonds till crispy.
Remove in a plate.
In the same pan add Atta / whole-wheat flour.
Roast till it slightly changes color and turns aromatic.
Let it cool in the pan itself.
Once the nuts cool down, crush them in mortar and pestle.
Grind sugar to a fine powder.
Once the atta cools down, add sugar powder and cardamom powder ,mix well.
Now add the nuts.
Warm the ghee in a separate pan.
Slowly add the melted ghee and mix well.
Your Kasar/Panjeeri is ready.
