Matar Paneer in a Jiffy

When you don't have your domestic help ....you can still prepare delicacies using quick fix methods. This Fresh Green Peas and Paneer recipe won't disappoint you. This gets prepared quickly, you don't have to spend too much time in front of the stove.

Ingredients

Paneer 200 gms

Boiled Fresh Peas 200 gms

Oil 2 tsp

Asaefotida a pinch

Cumin seeds 1 tsp

Kashmiri Red chili powder 1 tsp

Coriander pd 2 tsp

Honey 2 tsp

Salt to taste

Kasuri methi 1 tbsp

Chopped coriander 1 tbs


Puree

Tomatoes 200gms

Red Bell Pepper 50 gms

Melon seeds 1 tbsp

Makahana 10

Ginger 2 tsp grated

Fresh turmeric 1 tsp grated

Green chili 1


Method

  1. Make a puree of all the ingredients mentioned under puree.

  2. Heat oil in pressure cooker.

  3. Add asaefotida and cumin.

  4. Once cumin turns golden, add red chilly powder and coriander powder.

  5. Fry for 30 seconds.

  6. Now tip in the puree .

  7. Wash the blende with 1/4 cup water and add that water too.

  8. Close the pressure cooker and give 1 whistle.

  9. Let the pressure release on its own.

  10. Meanwhile cut paneer in 1" cubes.

  11. Soak in warm salted water.

  12. Open the pressure cooker, add paneer and boiled peas.

  13. Add salt and honey.

  14. Mix well.

  15. Add water to get desired consistency .

  16. Bring it to a boil, simmer for five minutes.

  17. Crush kasuri methi between your palms and add to the subzi.

  18. Garnish with chopped coriander.

  19. Serve hot with roti/ paratha.
